As a nation, we owe so much of our liberties to the brave women and men in the armed forces. But we at home sometimes forget that. It’s easy to get involved in life’s nuances and forget about that sacrifice. That’s why the POW-MIA Freedom Car is such a great symbol. It helps us remember our duty as citizens to honor and remember the sacrifice of our soldiers.
The main idea behind the Freedom Car is to raise awareness for Prisoners of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA) service members of the United States armed forces. And MyComputerCareer is proud to partner with Team Johnson Motorsports #76 POW-MIA Freedom Car to promote this message to the over 75 million race fans across the country.
As educators, we believe that our mission to teach people to value this noble cause. POW-MIA might be a heavy burden for us to bear, but it is many times more difficult for soldiers who sometimes risk it all to protect the American Flag and Constitution. And when you want this cause to come across loud and clear, the POW-MIA Freedom Car is the way to put that message across.
About the POW-MIA Freedom Car
POW-MIA Freedom Car is a racer by Team Johnson Motorsports. Located in Race City (Mooresville North Carolina), the team is owned by Jack Johnson. As a military veteran himself, Jack continues to use his experience in racing to promote the importance of Veterans to the community.
The team driver is Jerick Johnson. In the previous two seasons, he has had over twenty top-10 finishes and has won numerous awards, including “Rookie of the Year” in the ASA Late Model Challenge series.
But the most significant support for the team probably comes from the sponsors and fans of the program. Unlike other racers in the series, the POW-MIA Freedom Car is unique. It runs solely on donations from partners and supporters alike, who become honorary sponsors that help the team reach the finish line.
MyComputerCareer’s Involvement in the Program
MyComputerCareer is proud to be the official partner of the program. Our participation in the program extends our mission to raise awareness for POW and MIA soldiers, and provide veterans the support and care they deserve.
The Freedom Car aligns with our existing on-campus educational programs for veterans that aim to enable them to lead successful lives following their service. We provide equal opportunities for former members of the military to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to become IT professionals.
Our certification courses allow veterans to enter the workforce and re-integrate to their communities with a highly sought-after profession. We also provide financial aid through the GI Bill® and Veterans Administration programs which makes it easier for veterans to invest in themselves to achieve their professional goals to regain control over their lives once again.
If you would like to know more about our veterans’ programs or career services, please contact us. We want to talk with you, to learn more about how we can help you take the first step to a new career in the Information Technology industry.
