MyComputerCareer Launches AI-Training to Prepare Students for Meaningful Careers in Information Technology

Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) Will Enhance the School’s Foundational Information Technology Security and Administration Program

Holly Springs, N.C. – Oct. 4, 2023 – To find long-term success in the world of IT, professionals need to constantly audit the industry to determine “what’s next” to stay ahead of the curve. IT-training mainstay MyComputerCareer (MyCC) preaches this, and today announced it practices what it preaches by adding Microsoft Azure’s AI Fundamentals to its robust training platform in response to the explosion of AI-driven technologies.

The Need

According to an AI-index report from Stanford University, “…as AI has become a more significant driver of economic activity, there has been increased interest from people who want to understand it and gain the necessary qualifications to work in the field.” This sentiment is evident as the AI-education market is predicted to reach $20 billion by 2027. So in order to stay ahead of the curve, MyComputerCareer’s leadership team decided to update its programmatic platform.

“Like every decision that could impact our students, this was made with cautious and coordinated planning across the organization,” said Tony Galati, founder and CEO of MyComputerCareer. “After a thorough review of the IT-training and education landscape, we realized adding AI to our curriculum was paramount to best prepare students for meaningful careers.”

The Details

The school’s updated Information Technology Security and Administration (ITSA) program, which is designed to provide foundational knowledge to help students break into the industry, will now include Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) to supplement the existing Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification. This content and the associated certifications will be added to MyCC’s front-end Operating I course allowing students to explore the fundamentals of cloud computing to gain an understanding of Azure’s core services – including cloud concepts, security, compliance, and pricing models. Students will then dive into the basics of AI and machine learning to make informed decisions on how to use the tools for AI technology for efficiencies and problem-solving skills within organizations.

This program update also allows MyComputerCareer to improve the student experience by providing five full weeks of immersion in the Linux Operating System. In the revised back-end Server I course, students will now receive an overview of Linux and popular open-source platforms to understand the major components of Linux and security and administration.

The Impact

Artificial intelligence isn’t going anywhere. In fact, the tool is becoming integrated into the fabric of daily life in many applications. The addition of AI fundamentals into the school’s training exposes students to a broad range of tools and knowledge that will help them solve complex problems and potentially make repetitive tasks obsolete. It will also help learners understand how AI is revolutionizing a number of industries. Most importantly, it shows students graduating from MyComputerCareer are gaining the updated technical skills needed to effectively jump into careers in IT.

“Our number one priority is to develop, then deliver, a technical education that makes employers want to hire our students,” Galati said. “Implementing an AI option into our hands-on learning platform shows hiring managers that our students are current with IT trends and ready to make an impact in their organization.”
