MyComputerCareer Celebrates More Than 1,700 IT Professionals in Spring Graduation Ceremony

IT School Recognizes Highly-Trained Grads Entering the Workforce on March 12

Holly Springs, N.C. – March 14, 2022 – MyComputerCareer, an online and in-campus technical college, will be celebrating the achievements of more than 1700 of graduates across all campuses during its virtual graduation ceremony Saturday, March 12 at noon. The graduating class reflects the demand for skilled IT professionals and the phenomenal growth of the profession.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to rise 13 percent from 2020 to 2030, much faster than the average for all occupations. These occupations are projected to add about 667,600 new employment.

MyComputerCareer is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training and provides entry-level IT foundational courses and advanced programs for students. Last year alone, MyComputerCareer students earned more than 8,000 IT certifications during their journey to graduate and find careers in the industry.

The virtual ceremony will feature remarks from CEO Tony Galati, President Amy Onuska, Regional Director of Texas Operations Jarvis Hill, Director of Alumni Services Kelly Dowling, Chief Marketing Officer Bruce Ackerman, and also feature a special salute to military veterans.

During the school’s 13-year history, MyComputerCareer has equipped thousands of graduates with the skills and resources for success, resulting in alumni working for some of the top tech companies across the country. MyComputerCareer welcomes students with no former experience or training in IT, and graduates coming from a broad range of backgrounds – from hospitality to retail to stay-at-home parents. The ceremony is great opportunity to recognize graduates’ hard work and accomplishments in working to become IT professionals, especially during the pandemic.

“Almost two years to the day of this graduation ceremony the COVID-19 pandemic shut down businesses, schools and social events. Many people reexamined their employment and financial situations during these last two years and many returned to higher education to secure a better future for themselves and their families. We’re honored to be a part of those changes and growth for this graduating class,” said founder and CEO Tony Galati. “Our team at MyComputerCareer has responded to career-changing students and a rapidly growing IT industry by consistently updating and adapting our program offerings to develop the skills needed to excel after graduation, and we look forward to tracking the success of these 1,700 warriors.”

The certifications offered by MyComputerCareer address the growing need for smart, skilled and experienced professionals to assist organizations and businesses in protecting their infrastructure and digital assets. The pandemic accelerated the trend of skills-based hiring, especially in the tech industry, as organizations realized the possible mindset shift from the traditional 4-year higher education experience. The surge in skills-based hiring allows postsecondary education institutions to design experiences around priority skills, assess those skills and help learners foster those skills, a priority MyComputerCareer has maintained since opening its doors in 2007.
