MyComputerCareer Celebrates More Than 1,700 IT Professionals in November Graduation Ceremony

Holly Springs, N.C. – Nov. 21, 2022 – MyComputerCareer, an online and in-campus technical college, celebrated the achievements of more than 1700 graduates across all campuses during its virtual graduation ceremony Saturday, Nov. 19, at noon. The class – made up of graduates from the school’s Information Technology Security and Administration (ITSA), Cyber Security Specialist (CSS), Cyber Security Engineer (CSE), and Associate’s Degree programs – reflects the demand for skilled IT professionals and the phenomenal growth of the profession.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to rise 13 percent from 2020 to 2030, much faster than the average for all occupations. These occupations are projected to add about 667,600 new employment.

MyComputerCareer is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training and provides entry-level IT foundational courses and advanced programs for students. So far this year, MyComputerCareer students have earned more than 3200 IT certifications during their journey to graduate and find careers in the industry.

The virtual ceremony featured remarks from CEO Tony Galati, President Amy Onuska, Regional Director of Texas Operations Jarvis Hill, Director of Alumni Services Kelly Dowling, and Chief Marketing Officer Bruce Ackerman, among others.

During the school’s 15-year history, MyComputerCareer has equipped thousands of graduates with the skills and resources for success, resulting in alumni working for some of the top tech companies across the country. MyComputerCareer welcomes students with no former experience or training in IT, and  graduates come from a broad range of backgrounds – from hospitality to retail to stay-at-home parents. The ceremony is an ideal opportunity to recognize their hard work and accomplishments.

“We challenge our students from day one to provide the skills needed to hit the ground running in an extremely competitive and rewarding industry, and these 1700 grads who we celebrated during this important ceremony are truly warriors,” said founder and CEO Tony Galati. “These folks are poised to positively impact the information technology sector for many years, and we look forward to tracking their success.”

The certifications offered by MyComputerCareer address the growing need for smart, skilled and experienced professionals to assist organizations and businesses in protecting their infrastructure and digital assets. The pandemic accelerated the trend of skills-based hiring, especially in the tech industry, as organizations realized the possible mindset shift from the traditional 4-year higher education experience. The surge in skills-based hiring allows postsecondary education institutions to design experiences around workforce skills, assess those skills and help learners foster those skills, a priority MyComputerCareer has maintained since opening its doors in 2007.
