MyComputerCareer Celebrates Largest Graduating Class in the Tech School’s History During Recent Virtual Graduation

4059 Members of the Class of 2020 Represent a 100% Increase of Highly-Trained Grads Entering the IT Workforce Compared to 2018

Holly Springs, N.C. – (April 8, 2021) – MyComputerCareer (MyCC), a technical college that provides hands-on Information Technology training, certifications, and job search assistance, recently honored the accomplishments of 4059 graduates across all campuses during its virtual graduation ceremony on Feb. 27. The record class – which was nearly 800 grads larger than 2019, and more than 2000 larger than 2018 – reflects the demand for skilled IT professionals and the unprecedented growth of the industry

The virtual ceremony featured remarks from CEO Tony Galati, President Amy Onuska, Arlington Campus Director Jarvis Hill, Director of Alumni Services Kelly Dowling, Chief Marketing Officer Bruce Ackerman, and also featured a special salute to military veterans. James Stanger, chief technology evangelist for CompTIA, delivered the keynote address.

Most importantly, the event featured photos of various MyCC graduates and slides honoring each student. The dynamic, multimedia ceremony was the result of several months of planning by MyCC’s graduation task force.

During Mr. Galati’s remarks, he congratulated the class of 2020 on taking control of their futures and overcoming obstacles to finish the program.

“There is nothing that makes me happier than knowing there is a group of warriors who overcame the difficulties of this very strenuous program to make it here with your families and friends to celebrate your graduation,” said Galati. “Each of you decided not to be satisfied with the status quo and gained the skills and certifications needed to hit the ground running in your IT careers, and I’m grateful that you allowed me to join you on this momentous occasion.”

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 11 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. These occupations are projected to add about 531,200 new jobs.

Highlighting this increased demand, MyComputerCareer’s graduating classes have increased steadily since 2015:

“MyComputerCareer has responded to the growth of the IT industry by consistently updating and adapting our program offerings to develop the skills needed to excel after graduation,” said Galati. “As the demand for a highly-trained IT workforce expands, so does our dedication to changing students’ lives.”
