Military Makeover Family

Cody Patron, A Gold Star Widow

Military Makeover with Montel is a TV show on Lifetime that seeks to help America’s servicemen and women, as well as their families, who have sacrificed for their country. Who is Cody Patron?

Back in 2011, Cody Patron, wife to Sergeant Daniel J. Patron, came crashing down. She just found out that her husband was killed in action in Sangin Valley, Afghanistan, after serving more than a decade in the Marine Corps. During his years in the USMC, Daniel dedicated his time and efforts to save as many lives as possible. This, in turn, earned him a Purple Heart as well as the Bronze Star Medal for his heroic service.

Over the years after her husband’s passing, Cody, now a Gold Star widow, was working on rebuilding her life together with her daughter Layla. Unfortunately, however, disaster struck again on October 2018 with Hurricane Michael. When the fierce, Category 4 hurricane made landfall in the Florida Panhandle region, it not only devastated the entire region. It also inflicted major water and wind damage to Cody’s home. Located in Panama City Beach, their home is barely livable. With its now bare concrete floors, hanging ceiling debris, and a torn roof, the home is in desperate need of extensive repairs.

“I didn’t have homeowners insurance as that is something my late husband took care of,” Cody says. “I had no idea I had to have it when I bought my home, and now Hurricane Michael has torn up so much of our lives.

The first step in helping Cody and Layla start anew is giving the family home the renovation it so desperately needs. That’s why Military Makeover and MyComputerCareer are hard at work to transform their home into a place of healing and happiness. If you want to see this transformation in progress, the show will air on  August 30th & September 5th, 2019.
