Live studio recording wins Communicator's Award announcement

MyComputerCareer’s “Get Into IT Live” Broadcast Series Wins Communicator Award

Two and a half years in, and the PR team’s Get Into IT Live series designed to help anyone and everyone get into the industry, just earned some serious outside validation.

The weekly show picked up an Award of Distinction at the 32nd Annual Communicator Awards, recognized in the Series: Schools & Universities category. The Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts sanctions the Communicator Awards through an invitation-only jury of more than 1,100 industry professionals from organizations like JPMorgan Chase, FedEx, Netflix, and National Geographic. Thousands of entries come in from across the country and around the world each year. Earning a Distinction means judges scored the work between a 7 and 8.9 out of 10, which is not a participation trophy.

From the Living Room to a Grown-Up Studio

The early episodes of Get Into IT Live were, let’s say, a work in progress. Bad lighting. Audio that came and went. Internet connections that dropped mid-broadcast. At one point, someone hacked into the presenter’s computer during a live show and shut the whole thing down. It was…a learning process.

The show started from a team member’s living room and built from there. Today it broadcasts from a dedicated Get Into IT Live studio in Apex, NC, and continues to evolve.

Built for the Anyone Hoping to Find a Career in IT

Get Into IT Live was created with one group in mind: people who needed help figuring out their next move. Students working through a program. Graduates navigating the job search. Prospects wondering if IT is the right fit. Veterans sorting out what a military transition looks like in the civilian workforce. Anyone trying to get a clearer picture of what’s happening in the industry right now.

To serve that audience, the show brings in guests from a wide range of backgrounds: career coaches, recruiters, IT professionals, reporters covering tech and employment, military transition experts, MyComputerCareer instructors and staff, and graduates sharing their stories firsthand. No script, no talking points. Just conversations that reflect what’s happening in tech and what people need to hear to make informed decisions in their journeys.

Why This Matters

Industry recognition for content like this isn’t just a plaque for the wall…although one will be arriving and hung in the studio. It reflects something else: consistency, credibility, and an audience that keeps coming back. When a panel of judges from some of the country’s top brands and agencies scores and recognizes your work, it’s worth noting.
