Holly Springs, N.C. – (August 26, 2021) – MyComputerCareer (MyCC), a technical college that provides hands-on Information Technology training, certifications, and job placement assistance, today announced the school will accept the Veteran Rapid Retraining Assistance Program (VRRAP) funding to a key member of its student population, military veterans. Falling under the VA’s education benefits umbrella, VRRAP covers education and training programs that lead to high-demand jobs-like those in the IT industry-to veterans who are unemployed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the VRRAP program, eligible veterans can receive up to 12 months of tuition and fees, more than enough to cover the full 7-month Information Technology and Security Administration (ITSA) program. Qualified veterans may also receive some living expense reimbursement while they’re enrolled in the program. To be eligible, candidates must, at a minimum, be::

      • At least 22 years old, but not older than 66, and

      • Unemployed because of the pandemic, and

      • Not rated as totally disabled because they can’t work, and

      • Not enrolled in a federal or state jobs program, and

      • Not qualifying for any other Veteran Education Benefits.

MyCC, which was recently named the #3 Military Friendly® brand in the country, is committed to bettering the lives of veterans and their families by helping them transition from military to civilian life through programs developed to prepare them for employment in the IT industry. The college is the proud sponsor of the #76 POW-MIA Freedom Car in partnership with Team Johnson Motorsports to honor all current and former military members and in remembrance of America’s 82,000 Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action. In 2020, the nonprofit organization Helping Heroes joined forces with Team Johnson Motorsports to further raise awareness, funds, and support across the country. Additionally, MyComputerCareer partners with the Lifetime Network to sponsor the show Military Makeover with Montel Williams, which helps deserving veterans and their families remodel their homes.

According to Ryan Sattelberg, Sergeant Major (R), United States Army and director of Military Operations for MyCC, Veteran Rapid Retraining Assistance Program funding will positively impact the lives of veterans and their families looking to enter into a new career.

“If you’re a veteran and still don’t have that career change or dream job you’re searching for, then this program could be a fantastic option,” Sattelberg said.

VRRAP is currently available until December 11, 2022, and program enrollments will stop on this date.

“As the son of a veteran, I personally have the utmost respect for the military community, which is one of the reasons I’m very proud to say more than 20 percent of our students are veterans,” said Tony Galati, Founder, and CEO of MyComputerCareer. “Since starting MyComputerCareer in 2007, assisting those in the military with enrollment, scholarships, training, and job placement has been founding principles – and we look forward to serving those who defend our country well into the future.”
