In response to recent developments and state-level recommendations addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, MyComputerCareer remains open and operational with appropriate measures to protect the health of the community. We are planning for several contingency scenarios and taking decisive, informed action to limit the spread of COVID-19 while ensuring the continuity of our teaching and mission. We will continue to update regularly to keep you informed.
We are smoothly and successfully transitioning almost all campus students to receive instruction remotely through our Live Online campus. This transition aligns with our goal to lower the number of interactions on campus, slow the rate of transmission, and protect our community. This change is temporary. However, it is so important to remember that in spite of everything that is happening, you are in pursuit of an incredible life change. Transitioning to your IT career is more important now that ever. We will continue to help you every step of the way.
For our veterans using VA Benefits, this transition has raised a number of questions and concerns about the impact to benefits and monthly housing allowances. At this time, veterans that are utilizing their VA benefits are required to continue to attend a physical campus location due to regulations outside of our control, with the exception of our Columbus campus students. These students have already been successfully transitioned to our Live Online campus. For any Veterans that are attending a physical campus location, other than the Columbus campus, we are trying to find our way around an obstacle within current legislation that prevents us from allowing you to attend online right now:
- “If the program has not been approved by the State Approving Agency for delivery through an online modality, benefit payments will completely stop (including the Monthly Housing Allowance under the Post-9/11 GI Bill) when students begin training online.”
Your program is currently not approved by your Veteran State Approving Agency for delivery through an online modality which would require MyComputerCareer to completely dismiss you from your program if you were to stop attending a physical campus location. We are working diligently to create an impact with the necessary legislation to quickly make positive change to this legislation!
Congress NEEDS to pass legislation to protect student veterans’ education benefits during a health-related situation! There are two very easy action items you can complete to help protect your benefits in this health-related emergency. Please click here to contact your Representative and click here to contact your Senator. You will want to complete BOTH to make a difference. You need to include important information about yourself. Make sure to include the below information. You can use this word for word to make it easy but do not hesitate to add more if you feel moved to do so.
- “I am a Military Veteran attending MyComputerCareer. I have risked my life and livelihood defending our freedoms.
