CECU Spotlights MyComputerCareer Founder Tony Galati’s Impact on IT Education

In a recent interview with Career Education Colleges and Universities (CECU), MyComputerCareer founder Tony Galati shared his journey from accountant to IT education pioneer, reflecting on the path that led to helping thousands launch successful technology careers.

Starting as a frustrated accountant looking for more fulfilling work, Tony discovered his passion for IT through a friend’s recommendation. After beginning at the help desk level and moving into training roles, he recognized a need for education that truly prioritized student success. This led to founding MyComputerCareer in 2007 in Raleigh’s Research Triangle.

Under Tony’s leadership, the school grew from a single campus to a nationally recognized institution with nine physical locations and comprehensive online programs. His student-first approach and commitment to practical, results-driven education helped establish MyComputerCareer as a leader in IT training.

As Tony transitions from CEO to chairman of the board, passing the torch to Amy Onuska, he leaves a lasting legacy of transformed lives through education. His advice for career changers remains simple: “Find something you are passionate about, and do it with everything you have.”Read the full interview with Tony Galati in the summer issue of CECU’s “Career Education Review” magazine.
