Duron Lee Gets the I.T. Opportunity of a Lifetime!

When Duron first started classes, he walked into my office stating that he currently works as a cook and wants more than anything, to begin a career in Information Technology.

Duron saw the MyComputerCareer television commercial and was interested in our program because he wanted to change his life for the better.  For years, Duron had worked in labor intensive or kitchen support positions.  Technology had always been a passion for Duron, who was always repairing PC’s and was considered the “go-to” person for family and friends that had I.T.  issues.  He was determined to take advantage of MyComputerCareer’s Career Services early on so that his resume could be submitted to our employer partners.

An employer had requested entry level candidate’s resumes for several Tech Support positions available at Shoe Show.  I submitted Duron’s resume immediately!  After the interview, Duron thanked me for helping him with his mock interview. He said that he nailed the interview!  The following week, Duron was hired with Shoe Show as an I.T. Specialist, increasing his salary by 50% more an hour!  He gave me a big bear hug and thanked me again.  I told him that I didn’t get him the job for him.  He accomplished that on his own.

Duron stated that, “The training that I received at MYCC has come to life full force.  I’m now seeing the subjects I covered in Networking and A+ in real time and my family couldn’t be more proud of me with the work and new path that my life has taken. The next step for me is to stay focused and continue working hard to live a full and successful life in an industry that I have passion and now, hands on experience!”

We are proud of you too!  Congratulations Duron!
