Delon Saunders was recently offered TWO job opportunities through MyComputerCareer’s Career Services’ program from employee partners, CPR Repair and Spectrum. Prior to enrolling at MyComputerCareer, Delon Saunders worked in sales and a few retail management jobs that left him feeling unfulfilled. His friend, who was already enrolled at MyComputerCareer told him about the positive benefits about the campus and program. Delon scheduled an appointment and needless to say, he and his wife were VERY impressed!
Delon stated, “Because of the area of study and training, along with his understanding of networking, he felt that this opportunity would allow him to thrive in the IT industry. Computer repair and gaming were always an interest of mine, so the enrollment was seamless for me.”
While enrolled, Delon attended our MyComptuerCareer Charlotte’s on-campus career fair and interviewed for a Tech Support role with CPR. The hiring manager was SO impressed with his knowledge, passion and skill set, that he offered a position to Delon ON THE SPOT!
The following week, Delon also received a call from Spectrum for a Field Tech position and they too wanted to schedule an interview. Afterwards, he informed me that the Spectrum interview was a success. Spectrum called to offer him the position as a Field Tech. As I always tell students, “When it rains, it pours!”
Delon says, “Now with graduation QUICKLY approaching (in May), my family is getting more eager and excited!! I am motivated by the pride and admiration that my wife has, as well as the fact my children see a renewed sense of accomplishment in their Dad!! Going forward, the sky is the limit for me and with a big company like Spectrum, who knows where it will take me. I have my family and the wonderful staff at MyComputerCareer to thank.”

Eleeta Wesley works within the Career Services Department at MyComputerCareer and serves the Charlotte, NC Campus as the Career Services Director. She conducts workshop presentations, teaching students how to interview, write resumes, interviewing, social media interaction and networking. Not only does she help students with revising resumes and cover letters, but she also plans on-campus career fairs, so that employers and students are networking face to face. Doing this allows her to partner with local employers in order to help students identify technical employment.
