15-year, higher-education industry veteran will oversee key departments to help ensure success for both students and the school
Holly Springs, N.C. – August 11, 2022 – MyComputerCareer (MyCC), an online and in-campus technical college, today announced the appointment of Mara Jefferson, MBA, ME, as regional director of enrollment. In the role, Jefferson will draw from extensive experience in the higher-ed space to dynamically lead the performance of all admissions and enrollment efforts of the school’s East region out of its Raleigh campus.
Prior to her appointment, Jefferson served as campus president at St. Andrews University – Charlotte, where she led a number of functions including the recruitment and development of talent. While there, Jefferson also worked with key stakeholders to meet, or exceed, outcome and growth targets. Previous to SAU-Charlotte, she was senior manager for Strayer University’s Atlanta, Memphis-Little Rock, Tennessee, Northern Gulf regions. Immediately prior to this, Jefferson served as campus director at Strayer’s Thousand Oaks-Memphis location for a number of years. In this role, she earned the Irving Strayer Award (MidCoast) in 2020, recognizing superior service to the University, its employees and students.

Jefferson graduated from Hofstra University with a bachelor’s degree in History. She also holds a master’s of Business Administration and master’s of Education from Strayer University.
Established in 2007 and nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training, MyComputerCareer provides entry-level IT foundational courses as well as advanced programs for students seeking to specialize in information technology training, certifications, and job placement. MyCC students earned more than 8,000 IT certificates in 2021 and so far this year have earned more than 2200 certs.
