CAMPUS STUDENTS: Don’t Miss Classes on Monday & Tuesday

Good evening MyCC Students!

As you have seen, some colleges and universities are postponing or even canceling classes to help students avoid contact with coronavirus and reduce assemblies of large groups of people. Even though your MyCC campus is comparatively small, we too, want to make sure you can safeguard the health of you and your loved ones AND continue your education and achieve your career goals without unnecessary delay.

For that reason, we want to make doubly sure that you ATTEND your classes on Monday and Tuesday, March 16th and 17th without fail! During those sessions, you will receive vital information about how we will proceed with your IT curriculum during the newly proclaimed “national emergency,” along with some tools and training you’ll need to accomplish your goals without interruption.

We know how much you have sacrificed and invested to make this dream a reality. We’re working diligently to help you progress without skipping a beat during this challenging time. It is incredibly important that you attend class next week.

We will continue to keep up with unfolding events and react as needed to keep you on-track with your career success. Please reach out to your Campus Director if you have any further questions or if circumstances emerge that would make it impossible to attend classes on Monday or Tuesday night.

For Our Veteran Students

You served our country and MyComputerCareer wants to help you protect the benefits that you have rightfully earned. Across the country, colleges and universities are canceling in-person classes and moving to remote or online courses to limit the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). However, for GI Bill® users this change raises questions and concerns about the impact to GI Bill® beneficiaries’ benefits and monthly housing allowances (MHA) administered through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

There are two very easy action items you can complete to help protect your benefits in this health-related emergency. Please click here to contact your Representative and click here to contact your Senator. You will want to complete BOTH to make a difference.

You need to include important information about yourself. Make sure to include the below information. You can use this word for word to make it easy but do not hesitate to add more if you feel moved to do so.

  • “I am a Military Veteran attending MyComputerCareer. I have risked my life and livelihood defending our freedoms. I should not be penalized because of a health-related situation outside of my control. Please pass legislation to protect student veterans’ education benefits during a health-related situation now!

Congress NEEDS to pass legislation to protect student veterans’ education benefits during a health-related situation! The bill that we want to help push forward will grant the Secretary of VA the authority to continue paying student veterans their benefits and BHA even if a postsecondary institution transitions from in-person classes to remote or online during an emergency and health-related situation.
