It’s All About MyComputerCareer Connections
My day began with a call from Caleb Sand, a MyComputerCareer Columbus campus student, who could hardly contain his excitement over the phone. I could tell as soon as we began our conversation that Caleb had some exciting news for me! But let me back up just a bit. Last week, the Columbus campus had a successful career fair with fourteen employers in attendance. One of those employers was Brooksource, Columbus’ Employer Partner of the year for 2016 and 2017! Caleb discussed their highly acclaimed positions with Ascena, as a Service Desk Analyst and it was kismet from there.
Caleb was called to meet with Ascena this week, where he was interviewed by none other than a MyComputerCareer Graduate! I asked Caleb if this eased his nerves a bit, and he said “oh, absolutely!”. The interview couldn’t have gone better, with Caleb saying he was receiving compliments left and right, speaking to his ability to accurately and flawlessly answer their technical questions. But the biggest compliment of the evening came from the head manager at Ascena himself, who told Caleb he had the best answers to their technical questions that he had EVER heard. With the amount of interviews Ascena conducts to fill their large call center…that’s a pretty major compliment!
So, all that to say that Caleb called me this morning with the exciting news that right after he left his interview with Ascena, he received a call from them extending an offer!!! He starts on June 25th and let me tell you, he is pretty excited about it! With four certifications AND a new job under his belt just halfway through his program, I’d say there’s a bright future ahead for Caleb and his I.T. career.
Congratulations Caleb from all of your MyComputerCareer family!
