Jake Spillers #55 Toyota Racing Camry
It’s Hard To Recover
Despite posting the second quickest lap time in final practice today (August 19th), Jake Spillers had an eventful night and finished 13th. On the third lap, the MyComputerCareer Toyota Racing Camry was bumped and received damage. After repairs in the pits, Jake worked with crew chief Jerick Johnson to adjust his racing line and settled into a good pace. Unfortunately, he was caught out by yet another incident on the final lap that spun his car. Jake finished a hard-faught 13th.
Driving the #55 MyComputerCareer Toyota, Jake Spillers finished 3rd Saturday night (July 25th) at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, NC. Jake entered the race with a bit of excitement as he had raced Caraway multiple times in another series. After three practice sessions with the able support of veteran crew chief Jerick Johnson and the members of Team Johnson Motorsports, Jake earned a 4th place qualifying position and quickly locked in a 3rd place position in the race. When Keeping It Clean Pays Off
In an incident-filled race, Jake Spillers kept his cool tonight (June 19th) and finished 3rd, his second podium finish of the season! It was Jake’s first PASS Pro Late Model outing at South Carolina’s Anderson Motor Speedway.
Keeping It Clean
One of the biggest compliments you can pay a racer is saying he ran a clean race. Jake’s outing tonight (June 6th) at Hickory Motor Speedway was a learning experience. He started in 8th and finished 7th without incident. Jake again credited Team Johnson Motorsports for providing a car he felt had a top-5 finish in it if the race was a few laps longer. The MyComputerCareer Toyota Racing Camry was fast and consistent, allowing Jake to keep pace with more experienced drivers.
Third Time’s A Charm
Amazingly, in only his third start, Jake Spillers won his first race tonight (May 8th) in the highly competitive PASS series. Jake started 5th in the MyComputerCareer Toyota Racing Camry and made some aggressive moves early on at Tennessee’s Kingsport Speedway. He ended up in the right place at the right time and picked up the win! After the race, Jake gave credit to Team Johnson Motorsports for adjusting his car throughout the day and getting it on-point for the race.
First Race Sixth Place – Second Race Fourth Place
Jake Spillers brought the MyComputerCareer Toyota Racing Camry home 6th tonight (April 3rd) in his first race of the PASS season. Jake ran as high as 3rd at Hickory Motor Speedway and was happy with that for his first late model start! There was no time to celebrate, however, as his second race was the next night!
The second race of the weekend, also at Hickory, showed improvement over the previous night’s result as Jake finished 4th. There was plenty to celebrate this time as it was also Jake’s birthday!
